Therefore, we have provided some unique and out of the box tips to help you become more productive and make the most of your day.
The 2-minute rule
Believe it or not, you can complete a lot in 2 minutes. The goal is to make it easier for you to stop procrastinating and get started on the things you should be doing. It is also a great tool to get rid of unimportant things on your to-do list. Here is how it works:
- If it takes less than 2 minutes, then do it now. Don’t add it to your to-do list or put it aside for later. Any emails you need to respond to, updates for a colleague- do them now.
- Start something that takes more than 2 minutes. You can’t accomplish all your goals in 2 minutes. But you can start working on your goal in 2 minutes or less. Taking the action of working on a big task will build momentum.
Chewing Gum
This one might be the most unique on our list. Not only does chewing gum freshen up your breath but, also your brain. Studies show that chewing gum leads to increased blood flow in the brain, which speeds up your reaction time by 10%. Other benefits to chewing gum include combating sleepiness. Psychological tests have confirmed that chewing gums makes your body more alert. So next time you’re feeling sleepy at your desk, popping a piece of gum might help.
Create a break list
Studies show that taking 15 to 20-minute break every 90 minutes will improve focus. Working for 90 minutes matches your body’s natural rhythm and alertness. Select what you do during your lunch break carefully, because that is just as important! Create a list of activities you enjoy that you can do during your breaks. You should only check social media if it fuels you.
