4 Characteristics you need to succeed in a Devops career

Interested in a career in DevOps? Here are 4 soft skills that you will need to succeed in the industry.

Communication & Collaboration

Working in DevOps it is imperative to be a great team player. You should always be thinking about how they can help their team. This goes hand in hand with communication. In order to be a successful team player, you need to have great communication. The setbacks and success all must be communicated to the entire organisation.

Detail orientated 

Any tiny errors can have a huge effect if you are working in DevOps. Having attention to detail means that you will be able to spot any minor errors before there are any issues.

Self-motivated

Working in DevOps means that you can perform remotely without any loss of quality of work, therefore you must be flexible and be adaptable because you may have to work freelance or remote jobs. To get the work done remotely you have to be self-motivated to work out of the office and teach yourself some aspects of the job.

Prioritise 

You must be able to prioritise your work because you will most likely have a lot of tasks and objectives. You can determine which tasks are the most important when you analyse your KPIs.
