USER EXPERIENCE DESIGNERS

We are at an age where everything is digital, but most people are not aware of the process involved developing these products. This where user research experience designers come in. UX designers make sure that the interaction between websites and their users is as smooth as possible. The demand for this role has increased in the past 10 years because companies realise that there is a lot of competition out there for customers and it is a necessity that websites/apps are user-friendly.

APP DEVELOPERS

Remember a time when there were no phone apps? The iPhone was introduced in 2007 and the Android was introduced not long after and the app store launched in 2008. Since then there are millions of apps that have been developed and put in the app stores. The demand for apps has continued to grow over the years which means there are plenty of fresh opportunities for programmers and developers to break into the market.

CLOUD COMPUTING SERVICES

Cloud computing has been around since early 2000’s but it has only taken off in recent years. It has transformed the way business is conducted and there has been a spike in a number cloud-based security jobs, from email security to cloud security architects who work on keeping data secure. 10 years ago there was no need for these jobs, but things have changed.

DATA SCIENTIST/ANALYST

Over the last 10 years, data and statistics have exploded. In the past companies would have to manually keep records of customer activity or set up surveys, whereas now websites can track user behaviour automatically in great detail. Data scientists and analysts work with businesses to identify trends and anticipate what customers want. Big data can be used to predict future traffic demand.

ANYTHING TO DO WITH AI

One of the biggest buzzwords recently has been Artificial Intelligence (AI). Since 2002 big data and faster computing speeds have sparked an AI revolution. And today there are a number of jobs created by the AI field, some of these include AI Engineering Manager, data scientist and machine learning engineer.

ANYTHING TO DO WITH CRYPTOCURRENCY

Cryptocurrency has exploded over the past two years and not only has it been creating quite a buzz, it has also created loads of jobs. From project managers to miners and data scientists, there is a broad spectrum of jobs available in the cryptocurrency business. In fact, one of the most searched tech jobs is cryptocurrency careers and there are now job search websites specifically for these careers.

DRONE EXPERTS

Over the last 20 years, the development of drones has increased and commercial drones have started appearing in the last 4 years. And with that, it has created new jobs. Drone operators and programmers can earn 6 figure salaries and with businesses like Amazon incorporating drones into their core functions, it looks like the future is going to bring more opportunities.

DATA MINER

The emergence of Big Data and the rapid growth of the data we produce, it’s hard to see the full extent of how prevalent a data occupation will be. That being said data miners have the exciting job of trying to unearth information to give their company an edge over their competition. And this is a high skill requirement and an underrated discipline, so data miners can expect high earnings and loads of job openings across many industries.

VIRTUAL REALITY CONSULTANT

Virtual reality is an emerging industry so there isn’t a set natural career progression, which gives a lot of flexibility. A VR consultant helps clients plan virtual reality projects, from 360 virtual reality tours to an immersive game.

UBER DRIVER

Uber has become one of the most valuable startups and it was only founded in 2009. According to Forbes, uber gave over 2 billion rides by 2016 and that number is predicted to skyrocket as they continue to explore with fully autonomous cars, however, this may mean that the uber driver may become a thing of the past.
